“IT&IP Law School Poznań 2016” Conference
At present the Internet is beginning to be seen as a tool that is revolutionizing not only the traditional business models existing to date, but also the entire sphere of human communication and relationships. Meanwhile, the rate with which the Internet itself is undergoing change (for example due to advances made in technology), but also change caused by the way the Internet functions, is also making it difficult to grasp the trends that accompany it from a legal point of view. These include, notably, issues of protection of privacy, price comparison applications, cybersquatting, liability of intermediary service providers, the fight against internet piracy, and finally legal analysis of hyperlinks.
The issues described above are the subject of a conference on “Information Technology & Intellectual Property Law” which is being held as part of the Summer Law School at the beginning of August 2016 in Poznan (organized by ELSA Poznań, working language: English). Dr Nestoruk gave the opening speech in the conference, entitled “What do we know about GOOGLE? Remarks on European Commission’s antitrust investigation on comparison shopping service”.
